Hamilton: On Sunday i.e. on April 11,2010,India's Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal arrived in New Zealand. Mr Sibal is on a three-day visit, which is aimed at strengthening mutual collaboration in the education sector.
Mr Sibal, who is supporting a sequence of education modification in the Indian education system, is expected to broaden collaboration with New Zealand in the education sector, including cooperation in research, technical and vocational education, teachers' education and open and distance learning.
Wenceslaus Anthony, Chairperson of India-New Zealand Business Council, told the sources that Sibal's visit was important for the New Zealand education service sector. The number of Indian students coming to New Zealand for higher education has been rapidly rising, with the number increased by 42 percent in the last year alone.
Further, MrAnthony has also mentioned that India's vast human capital and sound educational system will be of interest to New Zealand as well. India and New Zealand governments, academicians and administrators can look at reforms and entrepreneurs can look for opportunities in the educational sector.
