New Delhi: Indian Institutes of Management in Bangalore and Lucknow (IIM-B and IIM-Lucknow) have cut their charges of placement services in order to increase the participation of more companies on campus recruitment.
D. Purandeswari, Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) said that certain change has been reported regarding the placement fee charges of IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Lucknow. He added that IIM-B has given up participation fee for this year, along with reduction in student career support fee charged on companies, as compared to last year.
Moreover, IIM-Lucknow has also reduced its domestic placement fee to Rs 25,000 in slot zero for this year, which was charged last year at the rate of Rs 75,000 per company. However, the institute has initiated a charge on overseas companies recruiting students from $2,000 to $500.
The HRD Minister said that the number of companies has certainly increased in the placement process of IIM-Lucknow with around 37 new companies having participated, as per the given information. However, IIM-Bangalore has not received this kind of attention from the companies.
