IIM Shillong To Launch Two New Short Term Courses in July

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong will launch two new short term courses namely Certificate Course in Retail Management (CRM) and Sustainable Infrastructure Building and Project Management (SIBPM), which is to be offered in the upcoming session commencing from July 2010.
 
The two newly launched six months duration courses will be offered both online and campus. Maximum number of intake for campus programme is 40 and online is 100 seats for both the programmes. The course fee is Rs 75,000 per person per course. The minimum qualification prescribed for enrollment is graduation
 
However, the courses are primarily going to benefit and prune the employability skills of professionals like Government Officials, Defence and Paramilitary Officials, PSU - Senior/Middle Level Managers, Utilities/Infrastructure Developers, Investment Bankers, Private Equity and Infrastructure Fund Managers, Construction Company Officials, Investment Authorities and Project Appraisal Officials.
 
CRM and SIBPM focus on bringing people together to learn how to make their business ideas and ventures, organizations and the world more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. The method of teaching in both courses involves some innovative elements like e-books, Web Exercises, video case studies, and corporate lectures.
 

As per sources, major retailers in food and grocery (F&G), fruit and vegetables (F&V) and ready made garments (RMG) segments from India, China and Thailand will constitute the integral part of corporate lecture delivery and project assignment segments of CRM. Similarly, infrastructure companies from India, Germany and Thailand will be part of corporate lecture delivery in the SIBPM
