IIT Guwahati To Organize Its 12th Convocation On May 26

Guwahati: The 12th Convocation of the elite Guwahati based – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is scheduled to be held on May 26, 2010 at 11.00 am. The venue will be the institute’s auditorium (near administrative complex). Shri Bijoy Krishna Handique, Minister of Mines and DONER, Government of India, has been invited as the chief guest.
 
Convocation degree certificates will be distributed during convocation only to those students who have submitted the necessary No Dues certificates, latest by May 14, 2010. Format can be downloaded from IIT Guwahati’s official website: http://www.iitg.ernet.in/. Convocation robes will be issued to graduates between 8. 00 am – 10. 00 am near the convocation venue (i.e. the auditorium). Participating students will be issued convocation robes against a deposit of Rs 500. At the end of the convocation, Rs 400 will be refunded, when robes are returned.
 
In addition, the tentative date for rehearsal is fixed on May 25, 2010. There will be two rehearsals on May 25, 2010, and therefore the participants must be present in the IITG campus latest by 9.00 am May 25, 2010. Rehearsals are mandatory for all students who wish to receive degrees (in person) during the convocation session. Students not attending rehearsals will not be able to receive degrees during convocation session.
