Jaipur: JK Organization, one of the leading industrial companies in India, is going to establish a multi-disciplinary university in Jaipur. The name of the university is JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU). As per sources, the expected cost for the establishment of the university is Rs 3 billion.
Upinder Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, told the sources that the multi-disciplinary university will roll out its operations with an institute of management with a fully residential MBA programme and an institute of engineering and technology from the 2011-12 academic session.
Further, Mr. Dhar added that JKLU has signed a MoU with Han Yang University, Seoul, South Korea, for cooperation in the field of education and academic activities of mutual benefit. As per sources, the university is in conversation with a few universities in the US, Canada and Europe for cooperation in the field of faculty development, students exchange and research.
Moreover, Mr. Dhar said that spread over 30 acres, the JKLU campus would be Wi-Fi enabled and equipped with several amphitheatres, syndicate rooms, a state-of-the-art library, modern sports facilities and a management development centre. Sources informed that the university's Board of Management would be formed by renowned academics and administrators.
