Anantapur: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Portsmouth University in United Kingdom (UK). As per sources, Vijay Kumar, the Vice Chancellor (VC) and the Registrar of JNTU, left to United Kingdom on January 24, 2010 and returned to the country recently.
In a press conference, Krishna Gandhi, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of JNTU has made the announcement that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Portsmouth University in United Kingdom has been signed by JNTU. According to the MOU students from the university can go for study to the UK in the fourth year under an exchange programme. Further, students of JNTU would now be entitled with the benefit of two degrees - one from the UK and the other from the parent university itself.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, situated in Hyderabad, is the first technical university in India. Popularly known as JNTU, the University was established on October 2, 1972, by an Act of State Legislature. It offers quality educational courses in diverse faculties, at different degree levels.
