Thiruvananthapuram: On September 29, 2010 (Wednesday), Kerala University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Magic Academy in order to run professional magic courses. The magic courses conducted by Magic Academy will now be recognized by Kerala University’s Centre for Adult Continuing Education Extension (CACEE).
Initially, a 100-hour certificate course and a 200 hours diploma course in magic will be offered. The academy will invite application forms and run the classes. However, the examinations will be conducted by CACEE. The Certificate Course in Magical Art and Science will include history of magic, science of magic, showmanship, close-up magic and conjuring magic, and the diploma course will have the art and science of magic.
Those candidates who have passed higher secondary or equivalent examination are considered eligible for admission into the certificate course. For enrollment into diploma courses, candidates must either pass certificate course or must have started performing magic on stage. The classes for the above mentioned courses are scheduled to commence by the end of this year.
