Kolkata: As per the latest published results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2010, Kolkata students from Gateforum Educational Services Pvt. Ltd have obtained the top five rankings in the exam, keeping the trend of the past few years.
The highest rank holder from Kolkata in the exam has secured All India Ranking (AIR) 1 (EE). The other top rankers from Kolkata include Abhishek Sinha (AIR 2, ECE), Shubhankar Roy Chowdhury (AIR 2, Civil Engineering) and Sayan Ghosh (AIR 5, ECE), Shubhadip Mukherjee (AIR 13, EE), Santanu Talukdar (AIR 17, IN) and Subhadeep Gupta (AIR 18, CS).
The head of Gateforum Educational Services Pvt. Ltd Abhijit Chaudhuri said that Kolkata has been producing many talented students that showed again in the GATE -2010 results. Now, the highest rankings of the students will help them to select their own choice of institutes from different parts of India, along with great job opportunities. He added that the GATE result process has some important changes this year, as there is a cutoff marks for AICTE stipend eligibility in place of not qualified category.
Gateforum, which was set up by the alumni of IIT Kharagpur, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow and XLRI Jamshedpur, conducts coaching classes for the candidates appearing in GATE across the different cities of India.
