New Delhi: The registration has started for the 3rd Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Global Business Challenge (GBC), an international competition for management students.
According the organizers, the competition was received very well last year with over 200 colleges and more than 6000 students participating across the county. Also, CIMA hopes to increase this number to over 500 colleges this year. As per sources, in 2010, BITS Pilani Goa won the India national challenge and got an opportunity to participate in the global finals in Kuala Lumpur.
Furthermore, the winning team from India would compete with teams from 17 countries like UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, UAE and Australia and if victorious, will participate in the global final, which is scheduled to take place in China.
According to CIMA, the international competition, which is being held in partnership with British financial services firm Barclays, provides students with a great opportunity to test the depth of their financial knowledge, try out their business management skills and expand upon their competitive ability.
Participating teams will be expected to analyse, report and present on case study by the financial management institute.
Moreover, the organizers has also said that the winning teams at the regional rounds and the national champions also get to win a host of prizes and free participation to a host of workshops and sometimes even internships.
