Chandigarh: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is about to be signed between Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak, in order to usethe vast physical infrastructure of the former, until the campus of latter is not fully equipped to cater to the needs of budding professionals. The formal procedure of signing MoU will be held on Friday i.e. March 19, 2010. The information has been revealed by the vice-chancellor of MDU, Dr R P Hooda.
According to the MoU, IIM Rohtak will be facilitated with new Humanities Block for teaching, separate hostel for girls & boys, administration block, Director Residence, 9 quarters for Faculty members of IIM and 5 rooms in the Faculty House of the University. Besides, IIM can access the central facilities of MDU University, predominantly Tagore Auditorium, Sports Complex, conference Halls, and Central Library.
The Vice Chancellor of MD University Dr Hooda took the provisional commencement of IIM in the premises of MDU in a high spirit. While addressing, he said that the move will be a 'value-addition' for the university and will be a huge contribution to the enrichment of the academic ambience of the University.
IIM Rohtak is a fructification of all the hard work and pain taken by Government of Haryana, including Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and Member of Parliament (M.P.) Deepender Singh Hooda. IIM Rohtak will function under the guidance of IIM, Lucknow.
