New Delhi: On Friday i.e. on July 23, 2010,Haroon Yusuf, Delhi Industries Minister, has announced the launch of 20 new vocational training programmes for the unemployed youth.
Mr Yusuf has told reporters that it is important to impart appropriate skills development training to the state’s existing and emerging manpower, to assure maximum employment to the people of Delhi. He said that this is the reason why the Ministry has also taken a decision to upgrade the professional and technical training facilities.
He also mentioned that there is already a training centre at Jhandewalan, and two more at Waziribad will come up soon. Further, the minister said the government aims at training 2,600 students in 2010-11. Moreover, he also said that tie-ups are being made with companies to ensure that the students get good placements.
