Osmania University Situation Better: Committee to Supreme Court

New Delhi: A three member committee on Friday submitted its status report before the Supreme Court that the situation in Osmania University campus has become better, considerably. The University has allegedly been used as a line of Telangana separatist movement.
 
A senior advocate and state counsel Harish Salve said, while submitting his report before the Bench (comprising Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly), that the situation in the University has improve a lot, as compared to the past.
 
A panel of Andhra Pradesh State Secretary, Vice Chancellor of the university and Hyderabad Police Commissioner was formed by the Supreme Court in February, was set up by the Supreme Court to administer the law and order situation in the University and analyze the need for further operation of security forces on the premises.
 
Meanwhile, the Bench is also hearing the state government’s appeal against directing paramilitary forces to vacate the campus of the University as ordered by the Division Bench of the High Court.
