Pondicherry University to Organize Research Workshops from Sept 23

Puducherry: Pondicherry University will organize three national level workshops on research methods and techniques, commencing from September 23, 2010. It will be conducted by the University Grants Commission-Academic Staff College (UGC-ASC) at the University.
 
The first workshop is scheduled to be held on September 23 and 24 and will focus on training research guides. S Hariharan, Director, UGC-ASC, has said yet another focus of the workshop will be on training research guides in their task of selecting and screening research areas of scholars in order to avoid repetition of topics. He mentioned that the college has received nearly 1700 applications from across the country. He also added that 150 candidates have been selected from these applications.
 

The second workshop will begin from September 30, 2010 and will continue till October 1, 2010. It would mainly focus on training 150 research scholars from all over India. Methodology of research, art of writing research reports are some of the topics that will be discussed in the workshop. The third and last workshop will commence from October 28, 2010 till October 29, 2010. The main focus of this workshop will be to train 100 teacher scholars who have registered for various research programmes across India.
