Hyderabad: On March 15, 2010, theUnion Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal has expressed confidence that the common entrance test for science stream students for Bachelor’s degree courses would be in place by 2013. During a press conference, Mr Sibal said that all the states have mooted the proposal. He is sure the common entrance test will be in place by 2013.
Further, Mr Sibal has also mentioned that let us see how things develop. Accordingly, if not possible in 2013, it will definitely be in place by 2014. The statement came from the HRD Minister after the apprehensions among academicians that the time was too short to introduce the common entrance test now.
Sibal added that the core curriculum for Class XII students would be available in all the Indian languages. In addition, central universities would start leadership programmes for school teachers, to improve the quality of education in schools. Also, a committee has had been set up to improve the quality of school education.
