Noida: On March 8, 2010, Semi Conducting Society of India and Sharda University jointly organized a National Conference on Photovoltaics, in the University’s premises at Greater Noida. The conference highlighted on bringing academicians, researchers and technocrats on a single platform. Moreover, the main objective was to explore various issues of photovoltaic technologies in terms of profitable exploitation of possible energy products in the near future.
As per sources, the conference witnessed the participation of renowned people from academics and research laboratories like IIT Delhi, NPL, DRDO, Moser Baer and Delhi University etc. The conference served as a common platform where they shared their thoughts in the perspective of existing photovoltaic technologies. During the conference, there were different sessions in which speakers delivered lectures pertaining to recent findings in photovoltaic research, including the applicable technologies like amorphous silicon, crystalline silicon, thin film and dye-sensitized.
Mr P.K.Gupta, Chancellor, Sharda University has said it is expected that this occasion will provide scope and opportunity to workers to be known with recent trends of photovoltaic technology, which is currently being investigated extensively throughout the world. This conference has offered research scholars post-doctoral fellows, technocrats a prospect to get up-dated with new initiatives in this area.
