Six Indian Institutes Sign Agreement with Spanish Universities

New Delhi: Six Indian institutes have inked a pact with Spanish universities. The aim of this agreement is internationalization of higher education. Alliance 4 Universities (A-4U), a grouping of Spanish universities, said in a statement that Indian and Spanish institutions have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on internationalization of higher education and develop programmes that benefit student and faculty exchange between the two countries.
 
The President of Alliance 4 Universities (A-4U), Spain, Mr. Ana Ripoll Aracil, said that with this collaboration, they aim to enhance international mobility of students, researchers and academics and help establish research collaboration partnerships worldwide. As per sources, A-4U includes Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM), Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) and Universiat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (UPF).
 
Further, sources told that the Indian institutes that have signed the pact include Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, Birla Institute of Management and Technology (BIMTECH) and Jaypee Education.
