Mumbai: Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, alone have send 900 participants to Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai’s (IIT-Mumbai’s) Techfest.
As per sources, around 4,200 students from Gujarat have registered for 'Techfest', the annual international science and technology festival of IIT-Mumbai. SVNIT tops the list for sending the maximum number of students for the fest.
Ronnie Philip, Media Coordinator, said that 900 of the 4200 registered participants are from SVNIT alone. He has said that DA-IICT and NIRMA from Ahmedabad are next with 700 students each. He also added that other colleges that have sent maximum participation are MSU, Baroda and GEC.
Mr Philip also mentioned that this year they have witnessed a big increase in the number of students participating from Gujarat - up by nearly 800. He said last year they had around 3400 students; this year the number has increased to 4200 and is likely to rise again in the coming days with the event nearing its end.
