Tiruchi: Georgia-based, Tbilisi State Medical University is keen to admit a large number of Indian students, in conformity with the norms of the Medical Council of India. As a signatory of the Bologna Declaration on the European Space for Higher Education, the University is eager to enroll India students in its six year under-graduate medical course (MBBS).
Rima Beriashvil, Deputy Rector and Professor of Pathology of the University made the announcement during a spot admission session conducted on Thursday i.e. on April 22, 2010 in Tiruchi. She said presently about 500 Indian students were there in the University, which has a strength of about 8,000 students, including 5,000 in under-graduate courses and 750 faculty members.
Further, she said that as many as 20 eligible candidates were given offer letters by the Rector of the University Zurab Vadachkoria. Also, 30 students were given similar offer letters at Salem and Erode. She also mentioned that the spot admission sessions would be held in Madurai, Nagercoil, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, Vellore and Chennai over the next few days.
