Lucknow: The State Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced to establish 151 model schools on the pattern of central schools in backward blocks. It will also develop girls’ hostels in the state.
UP while addressing the meeting of the UP Secondary Education campaign, Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta said that the projected new model schools would be establish at 151 blocks, which have been recognized as backwards. Moreover, he also said that the UP Government will also build up hostels in 702 blocks for the girl students. In the first phase of this project, 144 blocks would be considered, where 100 girl students of 10th and 12th standard would be provided the hostel facility.
Mentioning on the figures, Mr Gupta said that the government has allotted Rs 81.74 crore for the hostels’ construction under the first phase, while Rs 3.77 crore have sanctioned to each proposed model school, which should have five acres of land.
Furthermore, Mr Gupta indicated that the priority would be given to the girls belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, Minorities and Below Poverty Line (BPL). He also revealed that the projected model schools would conduct education in the disciplines of Science, English, Computer, Short skills, Music and Mathematics.
