Vidyasagar University is an esteemed educational institution in West Bengal. It was set up with the passing of Vidyasagar University Act 1981 (West Bengal Act XVIII of 1981). The University offers high quality of education through its 27 PG departments (apart from the MBA course, which is being run under the Department of Commerce with Farm Management), 12 departments in Humanities and 15 departments in Science.
