Vikrama Simhapuri University Gets Andhra Govt Affiliation

Nellore: Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) the newly set up university has received the affiliation from the state government of Andhra Pradesh. This news of granting affiliation has come as great relief to students of Nellore who want to pursue courses under the district university. About 80 colleges ranging from Degree, PG, B.Ed, Law, Professional and Oriental would come under the jurisdiction of VSU.

As per sources, orders to this effect have been issued by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education and affiliating powers have also been given to six other new universities in the state. This has authorized VSU to establish autonomous and PG colleges outside the university area, in its limit. In addition, VSU has also received orders from the government to not to affiliate colleges in the jurisdiction of the new universities, from the next academic year (2010-2011).

V. Narayana Reddy, VSU Registrar, has said that there will be no compromises on the part of the university in maintaining the quality of education and there would be stringent rules about conducting examinations properly. He also warned that surprise visits and cancellation of recognition will be done to those colleges that were not up to the mark.
