Volkswagen India Inks MoU With Rayat Bahra Group

Chandigarh: On Wednesday, i.e. on October 27, 2010, Volkswagen India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rayat Bahra Group, a Punjab-based education group. As per sources, Rayat Bahra is the first educational group to sign this MoU with Volkswagen. Further, sources informed that the auto firm will impart technical training to engineering students under the MoU.
 
Dietmar Hildebrandt, Director (group service), National Sales Corporation, Volkswagen India Private Limited said that with these co-operations they will create employable talent not only for Volkswagen India, but also for the whole industry. They have zeroed in on 10 institutions in India, to sign similar MoUs, he added. Sources told that Volkswagen has launched its comprehensive manpower development programme. The programme will be called 'VG-TAP' (Volkswagen Group Technical Education Programme).
 
Further, Mr. Hildebrandt informed that after Rayat Bahra, they will move towards institutions in Bangalore, Pune, Delhi and Kochi. G S Bahara, Chairman of Rayat Bahra Group said that they are looking at engaging with Volkswagen for its expertise in automobile technology. It will help them to strengthen the potential of their students by equipping them with the required skill-sets to gain easy employment.
