New Delhi: AISECT, India's leading education, training and services network, has launched a web portal called AISECT Online. The portal has been launched in order to make quality education more accessible. As per sources, the portal intends to allow students with anywhere, anytime access and promote a collaborative and interactive approach to learning.
Further, sources informed that the portal will offer diploma, certificate and post graduate diploma programmes. AISECT will offer these programmes in the field of IT, Management, Hardware and Networking. Besides, the programmes will be conducted in several other vocational trades. In addition, sources told that the tutorials of AISECT are also available for students of class IX to XII who are preparing for engineering entrance exams.
Siddharth Chaturvedi, Director, AISECT told the sources that AISECT Online has been developed keeping in mind the basic issues of accessibility and affordability in distance education, due to which a large number of youth still don't have access to quality education infrastructure. This portal shall endeavour to bridge this gap by making quality education accessible to greater number of students.
Further, Mr. Chaturvedi told that currently, AISECT Network provides training to about one lakh students annually and with the addition of this portal they now hope to reach out to twice the number of students. Besides, he said that as per the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), India needs 500 million skilled manpower by 2022 to reap the fruits of their demographic dividend.
Moreover, Mr. Chaturvedi added that this means that they need to train around 50 million people per annum as against their country's present total annual installed training capacity of around 4.3 million. By launching this online portal, they are trying to bring hope to those who had abandoned the dream of continuing education due to paucity of time and money.
Furthermore, Mr. Chaturvedi said that additionally, AISECT Online will increase flexibility so that learners can have access to education regardless of time and geographical barriers.
