New Delhi: On Thursday i.e. January 20, 2011, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has granted Rs 322 crore for setting up of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research's (CSIR) world class drug research institute. As per sources, the institute will be set up at Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).
Sources told that the estimated cost of the project has been raised from Rs 190 crore to Rs 322.51 crore. The project is expected to be completed by March 2011, sources added. Moreover, sources informed that the planned institute would create a world class infrastructure to foster research and innovation in the area of drug discovery and development and benefit all sections of the society.
