University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into 2 year M Phil (Master of Philosophy) in Statistics & Computer Applications course, offered in the session 2011-13. Admission will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance test followed by interview conducted by the University.
Note: Students who are taking M Sc final examinations in Statistics may also apply provisionally and sit for the entrance test but their final admission would depend on passing the examination obtaining the required marks mentioned in the prospectus.

How to apply
Interested candidates may obtain the applications from the Department of Statistics, CU for the session 2011 – 2013. Application form can also be downloaded from the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The application fee is Rs 200 (for general candidates) and Rs 100 (for SC/ST/PH candidates) which can either be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of “Calcutta University” or by CU Cash challan to be deposited at Calcutta University cash counter. The duly filled in application form along with all relevant testimonials (details given in the website) and DD or cash challan should be submitted to the office of the Secretary, UCSTA, CU 92, APC Road, Kolkata – 700009 latest by August 31, 2011. Candidates must write “application for admission in M Phil in Statistics and Computer Applications, 2011” on the top of envelop. For more details regarding application and admission procedures candidates are requested to visit the University’s abovementioned official website.
