Department of Geology, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University (CU), West Bengal, has announced Research Eligibility Test (RET) 2011 for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) in Geology, to be offered in the session 2011. The RET in Geology will comprise of written examination, followed by an interview to be conducted by the Department of Geology, University of Calcutta as per the existing CU norms.
Note: Candidates, who have already passed any national level tests like NET, GATE, SLET, or have obtained M Phil, or M Tech, with examination scores valid on the day of holding the RET written examination, are exempted for appearing again for the written examination. However, these candidates must appear at the interview-part of RET.

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to send their application on plain paper (as per the format made available by the Department of Geology, University of Calcutta and on the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/). The application fee is Rs. 100 which should be paid through Challan for RET exam at the cash counter of University of Calcutta. The duly signed and completed prescribed application, along with the photocopy of challan (deposited by the candidate), should be submitted to the Head, Department of Geology, University of Calcutta, latest by October 17, 2011 (till 5.00 pm).
