Chinese Ambassador Says China to Help Develop Nalanda International University

Patna: On Friday i.e. January 21, 2011, Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan said that China will provide all possible help for the development of Nalanda International University. He said that this during his visit to Nalanda district. As per sources, Zhang Yan would hold discussion with the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of the university.
 
Further, sources informed that the Nalanda University Bill, 2010, will help in forming a central university in Nalanda district. The central university will be established on the lines of the ancient university, which was founded during fifth century A D and became a centre of learning for students from Southeast Asia, sources added.
 
As per sources, four nations i.e. India, Singapore, China and Japan had announced a plan to revive the ancient university as Nalanda International University. The nations have made the announcement in 2006, sources added.
