GGSIP University Delays Counseling Dates

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha (GGSIP), Delhi, delays counseling dates for an indefinite period of time for admission into various courses, offered in the upcoming session 2011. According to the sources, the review of the intake per course by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the main reason behind the delay.

The University administration has declared that they cannot take any action until the AICTE declares the final intake for its technical and professional courses, such as B Tech (Engineering), LLB (Law), MBBS (Medicine) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery).

Nalini Ranjan, Public Relation Officer (PRO) of GGSIPU, informed that it is the executive council which decides the intake per course. For e.g. the present intake for MBBS is 240 and this figure is now under revision. She added that till the University receives any notification from the council regarding the intake, it will not hold counseling sessions for any of the courses.

Furthermore, she informed that once the decision comes in, the counseling for all courses will be held together.
