Govt to Launch New Plan to Improve Literacy in Rajasthan

Jaipur: The government announces to launch a new action plan to improve literacy and implement effectively the Right to Education (RTE) Act, across the state of Rajasthan. This plan will be launched from July 1, 2011. The action plan is for enrolling uncovered and dropped out children’s in Rajasthan.
 
The action plan focuses to enroll near by 12.1 lakh children, who were found uncovered and dropped-out in the Child Trekking Survey. It also aims to create mass awareness, inspirational atmosphere and inclusive approach with performance oriented incentives/reward for stake holders and enforcing agencies.
 
In State Assembly budget speech, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made the announcement about the plan prepared for compliance. He said that MLAs, MPs, teachers, officials or school management committees would work on the massive enrollment drive and would go door-to-door to convince/inspire parents/guardians of targeted children for their enrollment.
 
As per sources, an official spokesman said that every teacher attached with Elementary Education Department would be given target of enrolling at least two children. Chief Minister, Education Minister, Chief Secretary and Principle Secretary (Education) will also appeal to all concerned for success of the enrollment drive.
 
In addition, the official spokesman said that good performing teachers, anganwadi workers and asha sahayogini from every block would be rewarded appropriatel. He also added that good performing gram panchayats would be provided special development grant of up to Rs 10 lakh.
