Chandigarh: Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has presented degrees to 330 students at the 31st convocation ceremony of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER). As per sources, Ram Baran Yadav, President of Nepal was the Chief Guest at the convocation. The ceremony was conducted at Bhargava auditorium in the premises of PGIMER, sources added.
Gold and silver medals were presented to 40 students for their excellent research and academic excellence in different fields of medicine. Mr. Yadav gave away the medals to those students. He said that work is worship. Students have to be much disciplined in their work. They should not run after money, but diagnose and treat their patients with dedication. Money will automatically run after them. They have to maintain the ethics of this profession, he added.
Further, Mr. Yadav said that he thank India for its invaluable contribution in Nepal in the fields of education and health. He also appreciates India's continuous contribution in the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Sources told that the Nepal President i.e. Mr. Yadav had pursued his post graduation from the PGIMER in 1985.
