Pune: On Wednesday i.e. January 12, 2011, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal said that in next two years, every college will be interlinked with top universities of the country through internet, which will facilitate students to study at home. He said that for this, every village and city will be connected with the fibre optics.
Mr. Sibal said the above statement while addressing the first Indian Parliament of Students Council Leaders at the MIT Campus. Further, he added that the Government has planned to spend Rs 1000 crore for this. In addition, he said that the students of today want a hassle-free education with the help of modern technology to compete globally.
Mr. Sibal also stated that the real wealth is in University system which accommodates to the research through various institutions. Furthermore, he said that the Right to Education bill has been passed but it will need an approval of the standing committee. Once passed, it will change the education system, he added.
