IIM-Kozhikode Enrolls More Female Students

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM - Kozhikode) has enrolled more female students than males, this academic session. IIM - Kozhikode for the second consecutive year has enrolled more than 33% women students in its prestigious post-graduate programme.
 
As per sources, of the total 344 students, 115 students are female. Of all the selected female students, 80 have Common Admission Test percentile between 90 and 100. In addition, out of 115 women students, 88 are with engineering background and 14 are either commerce or economics graduate. Three students are doctors, and one majored in law. Besides, not a single male student is from law or medical background.
 

According to a statement issued by Debashis Chatterjee, IIM -Kozhikode director, said that prominence to girl students has become a trend in IIM-Kozhikode. He said that last year also they had the maximum number of women students as compared to all the other IIMs. He also mentioned that girls have always performed better than boys. Furthermore, he said that even in summer placement, girls have been placed in better companies.
