Tiruchirapalli: The newly established Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirapalli (IIM-T) will commence its postgraduate diploma level programmes from the upcoming academic session, which starts from June 2011.
While addressing a press conference on Thursday, IIM-T Director Prafulla Agnihotri revealed that the institute has already initiated its selection procedure for the first batch of Post Graduate Programme (PGP). He added that almost 60 students would be enrolled to the programme in various subjects like Management Information System, Law and Finance operations, Marketing etc.
Furthermore he said that at the moment the selection of faculty is going on and the institute has received more than 360 applications for 12 positions of full-time faculty, so far. Interestingly, the applications are coming from several foreign countries like the US, Philippines and UAE, other than India. He hoped that the recruitment procedure may be completed by the end of this month.
Prof Agnihotri said that IIM-T will work with an objective of preparing young aspirants to take up the challenge of making society better and also create an environment that will assist students from diverse backgrounds to reach their excellence by imparting them valuable education.
