IIT-P's -Cultural Fest to Commence From February 4

Patna: Indian Institute of Technology Patna's (IIT-P’s), three-day techno-cultural fest namely 'Anwesha' 2011 will commence from February 4, 2011. Harshwardhan, Fest Coordinator has said that a number of games, prizes, gifts and events await the students of various colleges from across the country who would be invited to participate in 'Anwesha', meaning quest.

As per sources, the activities in the fest would include 'Kicks Don't Lie', a fun event of soccer; 'Paintball' in which players would attempt a goal without being hit by a paintball; 'Lend Your Voice' that would provide amusing and entertaining version of a video; 'Sheerluck Gnomes' in which the participant has to find out the killer of the detective, and 'Showtime', a search for directorial and film-making talents to transform vague, lifeless ideas into a masterful depiction of creativity and emotion.

Besides, the fest would offer a platform to showcase the artistic ability of participants in clay art, soap carving, painting and tattoo making. While 'Hoggermania' would test a person's ability to hog on the maximum number of pizzas in a given time, 'Comedy of News' would see the participants getting creative with mundane headlines. 'Word Squeeze' would provide them an opportunity to take the trophy home by squeezing out all the meanings of a word. Also, events like script writing and even love letter writing would test their literary skills.

Apart from the fun and entertaining activities, a number of seminars and talk shows are planned. Ankit Fadia would speak on ethical hacking. Dr Theodar W. Hansch, Physics Nobel laureate and IIT-Guwahati director Gautam Barua would also address the seminars. In addition, 'Robo Expo' would have all kinds of robots coming together while 'FARRA GO' would see the students competing in electrical circuit designing. 'Heel-Turn' and 'Syngphony' have the objective to select the best dancer and best singer, respectively. A classical night, a musical night and a rock night are also lined up. 'Satanz Tantrum', a rock band extravaganza would see rock bands from all over the country indulging in a band war of sorts.
