IIT-R to Organize Taksh-2011 From March 3

Jodhpur: The Indian Institute of Technology- Rajasthan (IIT-R) will organize its first annual inter-college socio-cultural festival namely ‘Taksh-2011’ from March 3 to 6, 2011. Recently, the IIT-R had held its first sports' event. This is the second major event since its inception.

‘Taksh-2011’ is a four-day event which will have hordes of activities, conceived by the students of the IIT-R. The emphasis will be on regional culture with an idea to promote and conserve it. The activities have been tailored to this theme. Vivek Vijay, professor and PRO, said the event will be inaugurated on March 3 by the director of the institution, P K Kalra. He also added that approximately 1,000 students from various colleges, including IIT-R, will be participating.

There will be many activities which will include yoga, debate, dance, drama, business, literary quizzes, music, photography, fine art with many prizes at stake. The festival will have two workshops on graphics animation and Salsa dance. A motivational conclave on career making at Vivanta by Taj will be held on the last day of the festival. Mr Vijay has also informed that experts and celebrities from various fields, who have set milestones in their career by battling out the odds, will share their experiences with students.
