Indian Government Offers 20 Scholarships to Malaysians

Kuala Lumpur: The Indian Government has offered 20 scholarships to Malaysians who are desirous to pursue alternative medicine programmes. As per sources, the scholarships will be offered to those candidates who aspire to pursue courses in Ayurveda, Siddha, Homeopathy and Unani in India from the academic year 2011-2012 and onwards.
 
Further, sources informed that the high commission has invited applications from Malaysian nationals who are desirous to pursue programmes in any of the aforesaid subjects. In addition, sources informed that 11 scholarships will be offered for the Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) programme. For Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Sciences (BSMS), five scholarships will be offered by the Indian government, sources added.
 
Moreover, sources told that two scholarships have been offered Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) programme and two for Bachelor of Homeopathy Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) programme. The scholarships will include tuition fees, living allowance, contingent grant, house rental allowance and medical benefits only. Candidates are not provided any air fare, sources added.
