New Delhi: The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University is going to host a FOSS Conference on March 12, 2011. It is a two-day event which will be conducted in the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
According to a press release issued by the university, it is being hosted by JMILUG, a Linux user group in Jamia and shall run concurrently with AlgoRhythm ’11, the Annual Techno-Cultural Fest of Computer Society of India, Jamia Student Chapter. Moreover, in the above mentioned programme, speakers from across the country will deliver talks on various topics of FOSS, both cultural and technical.
Furthermore, the release also informed that AlgoRhythm, the annual techno-cultural festival of CSI-JMI chapter commenced in the year 2001, with an aim of providing students a firsthand experience of handling and managing an event apart from instilling interactive and managerial skills in the students, which is as important as sound technical education in today’s competitive world.
