New Delhi: The Anwar Jamal Kidwai-Mass Communication Research Centre (AJK-MCRC) affiliated to Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) University is all set to introduce a new post graduate (PG) course in Broadcast Technology, this year.
The name of the course will be “Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Technology”. The duration of the course would be of one year, which will be spread across two semesters. This course in Broadcast Technology will train students to become well qualified professionals who can manage and uphold the technical infrastructure required for media production and transmission tasks.
The premier objective of this course is to train students for working principles and operational aspects of various technical systems employed in content acquisition, production, and transmission in Radio and TV. The course also offers hands-on training in real working environment, familiarization with broadcast stations and industry internship, which is included as an integral part of the curriculum.
The eligibility criteria for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Technology comprises of graduation in the discipline of Physics or Electronics (10+2+3) or Engineering (Electronics/Telecommunications/Electrical/Computer Science/IT), with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. The last date of submission of Application Forms is April 26, 2011 whereas the entrance test will be conducted by the university on May 15, 2011.

It was founded in 1982 by Anwar Jamal Kidwai (former Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia and later Chairman of the Centre) in collaboration with York University, Tornoto and the Canadian International Development Aid Agency.
