Online applications are invited from eligible candidates to register for Joint Entrance Screening Test 2012, also known as JEST. The test is being conducted for admission into PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) programme / integrated PhD programme in Physics (including various interdisciplinary research areas) / Theoretical Computer Sciences, to be offered in the following institutions.

How to Apply
Interested candidates can apply Online for JEST 2012 (strictly recommended) by logging into the website: http://www.jest.org.in/. While applying online, candidates must follow the instructions mentioned on the website. After submission of the online application form, a unique submission number will be issued. This number must be quoted by the applicant for further communication with the JEST authorities. The application fee is Rs 100 (Rs 50 for SC/ST candidates), which can be deposited directly to the following account of any Branch of State Bank of India or Associated Banks of SBI, either before or after the submission of online application form.

After submitting the fee, candidates will receive a challan/receipt/counterfoil from the bank. One must write his/her name and unique submission number on the reverse side of the challan/receipt/counterfoil and send it to JEST 2012, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012, latest by December 20, 2012. In addition, the receipt/challan/counterfoil can also be scanned and e-mailed to jest12@physics.iisc.ernet.in along with the name and the unique submission number.
