New Delhi: On Monday i.e. April 25, 2011,a Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry official said that new software has been developed to monitor teacher employed as the Right To Education (RTE) Act is implemented across the nation.
As per sources, the software, which will use data from district information system for education and generate lists on teacher Software developed to monitor teacher's vacancies in India. In addition, the software is developed by the ministry, was discussed in a meeting on the RTE Act chaired by Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal. Moreover, the official also informed that the software will have potential to generate a list of under-served and over-served schools, create a vacancy database, generate a list of vacancies subject-wise and correct existing imbalances in teacher deployment.
The RTE Act fixes the teacher-student ratio at a maximum of 1:30, and also has special criteria for teachers regarding their qualification. In addition, the official said that it will also be sensitive to the needs of physically handicapped teachers, women teachers and other categories as prioritized by the state. Beside, the meeting, which focused on the monitoring of RTE implementation, also discussed making local authorities the grievance redressal agencies and the state commissions for protection of child rights the appellate bodies at the state level.
