New Delhi: The President of India, Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil, will inaugurate a three-day International Conference on Women's Literacy for Inclusive and Sustainable Development” tomorrow i.e. on September 9, 2011.The conference will be organized by Ministry of Human Resource Development.
According to the sources, a total of fourteen countries including India, Brazil, China, Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria, Mexico, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Nepal would take part in the event. The SAARC nations and the E-9 countries will mainly be participating in the conference.
Furthermore, this three-day international conference will have various interactive sessions on different issues. However, the main subjects to be discussed during the event would be ‘Centrality of Women's Literacy to Inclusive and Participative Development’, ‘Emerging International Perspective on Adult Education’ and ‘Lifelong Learning, Innovations in Design & Delivery of India's Adult Literacy Programme’ and ‘International Cooperation for Promoting Adult Education’.
Sources also said that the conclusion of the Conference will be chaired by Pranab Mukherjee, the Finance Minister of India. During the conclusion session an 'outcome document' of the conference will also be presented.
