Katra: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, has initiated with its campus recruitment drive, for the session 2011-12. The recruitments session commenced from September 8, 2011, with TCS being the first company to enter the campus.
Prof. R.N.K. Bamezai, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, flagged off the recruitment drive at the University campus and wished all the participating students a great success in the placement process. Moreover, Mr. B.K. Bhatia, Placement Officer, SMVDU, said that this year the University will also assist other professional Institutes in the region for campus recruitment drive at SMVDU campus.
As per the sources, this early recruitment started as a result of NASSCOM (The National Association of Software and Services Companies) a body governing the IT industry declaring that it may start recruitment process for the session 2011-12 after the completion of third year B. Tech programme.
Therefore, all major IT companies, like, TCS, HCL, Infosys, L&T Infotech, Capegemeni, etc. started their campus recruitment much ahead of schedule for the session. Sources also said that the total hiring of fresher’s for the session 2012 is expected to be more than 2 lacs.
