UGC NET Scheduled on December 24

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) will conduct National Eligibility Test (NET) on Saturday, December 24, 2011. Online applications for UGC-NET December 2011 are being invited.
 
Also, the result of UGC NET, which was held on June 26, 2011, will be declared in the first week of December 2011. Detailed information regarding the application procedure is made available on UGC’s official website: www.ugc.ac.in
 
The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET). It is being conducted to determine the eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
 
The test is conducted in the subjects of Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications, and Electronic Science. From June 2011, BODO has been included as one of the NET subjects.
 
The tests are conducted twice a year generally in the months of June and December. The result of June, UGC-NET is declared generally in October. Similarly, December, UGC-NET result is usually declared in April.
