Assam University Silchar (AUS), Assam, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to the Integrated Pre-PhD course work for registration to M Phil (Master of Philosophy) / PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programmes (on successful completion of course work) for the academic session 2013. The course is being offered in the following departments of the University. Admission will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the written test, followed by personal interview, to be conducted by the University department.

- Departments offering PhD programme only (Silchar HQ): Agricultural Engineering, Information Technology, Visual Arts, Business Administration, Earth Science.
- Departments offering both M Phil & PhD programme (Diphu Campus): English, Political Science, History, Commerce, Physics, Life Science, Assamese, Anthropology

How to Apply
Interested candidates may obtain the prospectus along with the application form for course(s) from the Assam University cash counter on payment of Rs 700 (for General and OBC students) and Rs 500 (for SC/ST students) on all working days up to 2 pm. Applications can also be downloaded from the University’s official website: http://www.aus.ac.in/. The application fee is Rs 700 (for General and OBC students) and Rs 500 (for SC / ST students) which is to be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar, payable at Silchar. The duly filled-in and completed application form along with all requisite enclosure documents should be submitted to the concerned Head of the Department of Assam University, Dorgakona, Silchar (for courses of Silchar Campus) and Assam University Diphu Campus, Diphu, Karbi Anglong (for courses of Diphu Campus), latest by January 11, 2013.
