University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, Kolkata, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Philosophy programme. The programme will be offered at the Department of Philosophy, University of Calcutta, 1, Reformatory Street, Kolkata, West Bengal – 700 027, in the ensuing session 2012. Admission will be made on the basis of merit obtained in the written test, followed by interview to be conducted by the University on the below mentioned date.
Note: Candidates who have qualified UGC / CSIR (JRF) Examinations / NET / SET / SLET / M Phil / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations are exempted from the entrance test. However, they have to appear in the interview.
Date of Exam
Entrance test is scheduled to be held on August 14, 2012 (12.30 pm to 2.30 pm).
Interview of selected candidates will be conducted on August 28 & 29, 2012.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply in the prescribed proforma as designed by the University by paying an application fee of Rs 100 through a Challan (obtainable from Cash Counter of College Street Campus).
