Kanpur: The 26th convocation of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Uttar Pradesh, is scheduled to be held tomorrow i.e. on January 28, 2012 (Saturday) from 8.00 am to 10.00 am. The venue of the convocation will be the University Auditorium.
As per the notification issued by the University, His Excellency Sri B L Joshi, Hon'ble Chancellor and Governor of Uttar Pradesh, will preside the event. However, Dr Narendra Jadhav, Member, Planning Commission, Government of India & Member, National Advisory Council, Government of India, will grace the ceremony as Chief Guest and deliver the Convocation Address.
In addition, 02 D.Litt. Degree and 407 PhD degrees will be conferred during the convocation. Furthermore, meritorious students will be awarded the Chancellor's Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. The Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medal will also be awarded to the topper of each Faculty of the University.
Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, erstwhile known as Kanpur University, was established in 1966. Presently, it has 170 affiliated colleges in 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The University imparts undergraduate as well as postgraduate level study programmes in various disciplines.
