Pune: Dr D Y Patil Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU), Pune, Maharashtra, will host its third convocation ceremony, today i.e. on June 9, 2012 at 6.00 pm. The ceremony will be held at the University campus, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune 411 018. All eligible students, who have completed their courses, will be awarded degrees during the convocation.
As per the notification issued by the University, Her Excellency Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil, President of India, will grace the event as Chief Guest and deliver the convocation address. In addition, His Excellency, Shri K Sankaranarayanan, Governor of Maharashtra & His Excellency, Dr D Y Patil, Governor of Tripura, will also grace the occasion. However, Dr P D Patil, Chancellor, Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, will preside over the function.
D Y Patil University, Pune, is renowned as one of the most prestigious medical institutions across Maharashtra state. It has established several constituent institutes under its umbrella to impart medical education at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels. The University was declared as a Deemed University vide Notification issued by the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi.
