IARI Golden Jubilee (50th) Convocation to be Held on February 20

New Delhi: The Golden Jubilee (50th) convocation of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, is scheduled to be held on February 20, 2012. The convocation ceremony will begin at 9.30 am in the lawns of Dr. B.P. Pal Auditorium of IARI. The ceremony is being held for conferment of MSc / PhD degrees upon the candidates who have become eligible.
 
As per the notification issued by the Institute, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Students, who want to receive their degree in person or absentia at the convocation, are required to send their applications in the prescribed proforma made available on the Institute's official website: http://www.iari.res.in/. The last date to send the application for the same to the Registrar, IARI, New Delhi, is February 6, 2012.
 
Candidates, who want to take their degree in person are required to be present in the prescribed costume (Gown and Hood). For the convenience of such candidates, arrangements are being made with a firm of Delhi to supply the costume. Charges of the same would be Rs 825 (Rs 125 as hiring of costume, Rs 500 as security deposit refundable on the return of the costume immediately after the Convocation on that day and Rs 200 as the prescribed non-refundable fee for award of degree).
 
However, fee for taking the degree in absentia is Rs 1000, which should be sent in the form of Money Order, along with the application, for admission to the Convocation in absentia. The institute will conduct a full dress rehearsal on February 19, 2012 from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon. It is obligatory for every candidate, who would be receiving the degree at the convocation in person, to be present at the rehearsal, as failing which he/she shall not be admitted to the convocation.
