Maidan Garhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, has recently introduced two special courses in water harvesting. As per the statement issued by the University, the admission process for the same courses has already been started.
The courses launched are “Diploma in Watershed Management” and “Certificate Course in Water Harvesting and Management”. Admissions for the same are open for July 2012 session.
According to the statement, in addition to water conservation, the course also includes basic aspects of agriculture like soil erosion and its management; integrated farming systems like crop husbandry, animal husbandry, agro-forestry, fish farming.
Furthermore, the diploma programme can be completed in minimum one year and maximum four years. However, the time period for the certificate programme is minimum six months and maximum two years.
