Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into the following courses, to be offered in the upcoming academic session 2012-13. Admission to some of the full time courses will be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance test(s), to be conducted by the University.

  • Note: University will hold entrance examination (in Delhi Centre only) for admission to Certificate of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu a one-year Part-Time Programme of Study in the School of Language, Literature & Culture Studies. Admission to Diploma of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma of Proficiency will be made on basis of the past academic record of the candidate which will be assessed in accordance with the criteria laid down by the University for selection.

The entrance test will be conducted in the following 51 cities across the country - Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Dimapur, Gangtok, Guwahati, Goa, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Katihar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Pant Nagar, Patna, Pondicherry, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Secunderabad, Shillong, Shimla, Silchar, Siliguri, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. In addition, the University will hold entrance examination at Kathmandu (Nepal).

How to Apply
Interested candidates can apply through either “Online” or “Offline” mode of application. Details are as follows:
Online Application: In order to apply online, candidates are required to fill in the online application made available on JNU’s official website: http://www.jnu.ac.in/ or http://www.jnuonline.in/. The online application portal will remain open till March 21, 2012 (up to 5.00 pm). After successfully submitting the online application, one must take a printout of the submitted application form.
 
Offline Application: Candidates may obtain the set of Application Form and Prospectus through post by sending requisition letter along with a crossed Bank Draft for Rs 300 drawn in favor of “Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi” along with a self addressed (unstamped) envelope of minimum size of 30 x 25 cm, clearly indicating the programme of study for which the application form is required on the self-addressed envelope to the Section Officer (Admissions), Room No. 28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 110067. Candidates seeking a set of Application Form and Prospectus from Nepal are required to send a DD of Rs 400 or equivalent in US Dollars.
 
Candidates are advised not to send their request for set of application form and prospectus through courier. In addition, they are also notified that there will be no cash counter for sale of set of application form and prospectus. In addition, money orders and cheques are not accepted. The duly filled in application form or acknowledged printout of online application along with requisite enclosure documents (details given in the website) should be submitted latest by the last date(s) mentioned below. For any further details regarding admission, eligibility criteria and application procedure, candidates are requested to visit the University’s aforementioned official website.
